Kindred Spirits is pleased to have handcrafted items from two talented woodworkers. Our volunteer (and Dad) has made several birdhouses for us to sell. He makes sure bluebird houses, for example, are crafted to properly house bluebirds. We get to keep 100% of the money received from the sale of his houses. We also have a wide variety of handcrafted birdhouses, walking sticks, cutting boards, etc. designed and built by a local wood crafter. We receive 50% from each sale. This craftsman creates well-made houses that will last, providing your backyard birds nesting sites for years to come. Prices vary depending on size and complexity of the design, but are all quite reasonable. You'd pay more for an assembly line, poorly crafted "made in China" house that would fall apart after a season (if not sooner). You can take pride in offering your birds an abode not only "made in the USA," but made right here in Alamance County, N.C. with proceeds going to help native wildlife. These handcrafted pieces are designed and created by the same local wood crafter that makes our birdhouses (see "birdhouses"). Just like the birdhouses, Kindred Spirits receives 50% of the price for each board we sell. There is a variety of sizes, shapes, and designs of boards. Some are shown below. To order, just e-mail us which board/s you would like and we'll get them to the Treasure House for you to purchase (or we can make other arrangements, if needed). PRICE - varies depending on size and complexity but all are very reasonable.
Caring for your cutting board: if your board starts to dry out, just rub a little bit of olive oil into the wood. That will keep it from cracking and bring out the beautiful colors of the wood.

Handcrafted Memento boxes The same generous woodcrafter who is making our birdhouses and cutting boards/trivets has built a gorgeous box that can be used for jewelry, storing mementos, or whatever you want to use it for. The box is so special. It has Kindred Spirits woodburned on the top. The sides have a variety of wild birds intricately wood burned. There are feet on the bottom. Inside there's a divided tray that lifts out with loads of storage space underneath. The tray and box are lined. This is a super piece and would make a wonderful gift. This is not small. Can provide measurements if needed. PRICE - $29.00
